In April 2024, 7 students from the Faculty of Linguistics of Teikyo University in Japan landed at HUFLIT for a four-month study and cultural immersion program, sparing their time at HUFLIT’s Faculty of Foreign Languages. This was the second time of HUFLIT to host an exciting study tour for Teikyo University’s students.

All seven students, Shibuya Hinata, Akiyama Teruki, Aono Shota, Hamano Kosaku, Shimojima Kanamu, Kataoka Hayato and Hosokawa Jiei, dove into English-language courses and joined a bunch of cultural & extracurricular activities during their stay.

Their time at HUFLIT wasn’t just about hitting the books. They experienced Vietnam firsthand: exploring local culture, participating in student-led events, hanging out with Vietnamese peers, and discovering a new rhythm of life. The vibe was amazing – classes transformed from textbook grind into memories full of laughs and surprises. Grammar and vocabulary got a whole lot easier when you’re chatting, joking, and making friends. Some even found a new passion, like getting curious about business courses.

Beyond academics, HUFLIT and our international students are always encouraged to show off their strengths, personality, and unique colors. Stepping into the spotlight as “guest performers” at the Explore Japan competition hosted by the Faculty of Oriental Languages & Cultures, Kanamu and Kosaku absolutely nailed their mission, hyping up the crowd and boosting the energy for all competing teams. The audience went all in with cheers and applause, creating a lively, high-energy atmosphere throughout HUFLIT’s iconic “6th-floor hall.” It was the perfect blend of talent, culture, and student spirit – a moment everyone will remember.

A 4-month exchange that blended learning, culture, friendship, and memories. For those 7 students from Teikyo – and for HUFLIT – this journey was nothing short of unforgettable.
