While HUFLIT does not operate on-campus dormitories, the university works with reliable housing partners and provides guidance based on students’ needs, budget, and program duration.

1. Housing Options Near HUFLIT

International students may choose from a variety of accommodation types depending on their budget and preferences.

1.1 Serviced Apartments (Recommended)

A convenient option for students who prefer hotel-style services.

• Weekly housekeeping

• Front-desk support

• Higher price range

1.2 Studio Apartments (Recommended)

A private, self-contained living space.

• Higher privacy

• Typically includes small kitchen + private bathroom

• Ideal for students who prefer independent living

1.3 Homestay (Limited Availability)

A cultural immersion option for students interested in living with a Vietnamese family.

• Daily interaction with locals

• Often includes meals

• Recommended for short-term stays or Vietnamese Language Program students

1.4 Shared Apartments

The most common option for exchange and study-abroad students.

• Private bedroom + shared kitchen & bathroom

• Fully furnished options available

• Suitable for long-term stays (1–6 months)

3. Housing Costs

Accommodation fees depend on the room type, building quality, and the agreements within each MOU/MOA between HUFLIT and partner institutions.

Estimated monthly rent (for reference only):

• Shared apartment: USD 180 – 280

• Studio apartment: USD 250 – 380

• Serviced apartment: USD 350 – 500+

• Homestay (including meals): USD 250 – 350

Some partner universities may enjoy housing support, special pricing, or guaranteed room availability according to their MOU/MOA with HUFLIT.

Students will receive detailed pricing during the admission or pre-departure stage.

4. HUFLIT Accommodation Support

The Department of External Relations assists students by:

• Recommending verified housing providers

HUFLIT collaborates with trusted landlords and agencies experienced with international students.

• Providing a curated list of available rooms

Including photos, prices, facilities, and distances from campus.

• Helping students contact landlords

HUFLIT can help arrange viewing appointments or support English-Vietnamese communication.

• Advising on safety, contracts, and deposits

Vietnam has different rental norms; HUFLIT will help guide students to avoid misunderstandings.

• Offering temporary stay suggestions

For students who need short-term accommodation upon arrival.

Note: HUFLIT does not sign rental contracts on behalf of students. Students are responsible for finalizing agreements with landlords.

5. Tips for Renting Accommodation in Ho Chi Minh City

• Check what utilities are included

Electricity is often charged separately (approx. 3,500–5,000 VND/kWh).
Water and Wi-Fi may or may not be included.

• Confirm contract terms

  • Deposit amount (usually 1 month’s rent)

  • Minimum rental duration

  • House rules (visitors, cooking, pets)

• Choose well-lit and safe neighborhoods

Especially if returning home late from evening classes.

• Avoid renting without seeing the room first

HUFLIT can help verify listings for you.

• Keep copies of all agreements

Both digital and printed versions.

6. Additional Notes

• HUFLIT will not be responsible for issues arising from personal agreements between students and landlords.

• Students are strongly encouraged to finalize accommodation arrangements 2–4 weeks before arrival.

• If needed, HUFLIT can provide an official letter confirming your student status for rental purposes.
